I have been a dedicated and highly qualified acupuncturist since 2008. My studies involved not only acupuncture, but also massage, cupping, moxibustion, electro-acupuncture and an in-depth understanding of dietary advice. I am a compassionate practitioner who integrates acupuncture, massage, nutrition and lifestyle coaching into my practice. Throughout my experience I have successfully treated people with a multitude of problems whilst running my practice in Barcelona and now Brighton. I am fully insured and adhere to the professional code of practice.

I have been interested in healing and eastern philosophy since childhood, but it wasn’t until 2002 that I discovered the true healing power of acupuncture whilst traveling through South East Asia, In the same year, I studied holistic massage therapies in Bali, Indonesia and later Traditional Thai Massage and Reflexology in Chiang Mai, Thailand. After returning to Europe I decided to study Traditional Chinese Medicine in CENAC, one of the most prestigious schools of TCM in Barcelona, Spain, where I completed a 4 year programme.

In my Practice I have particular interest and experience in treating general health conditions that may not have responded well to conventional medicine including: chronic pain, back pain/sciatica, headaches and migraines and emotional related issues such as anxiety, depression, stress and tension. However, from the perspective of the whole-body approach of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, every problem has the potential to be addressed, so my practice is not solely limited to these aspects.

I have a deep interest in helping people and bring a positive change within the community. So, in my spare time I work as a volunteer at BUCFP, a well-known charity in Brighton that provides support, education and advice to the disadvantaged.  I am also an active member of Craggers, a registered  charity that provides adventure activities to unemployed or low income families and other socially excluded people.

To relax I enjoy the outdoors with my husband, two daughters and friends.  I particularly love hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing and am a member of the British Mountaineering Council.

It is difficult to find a therapist that analyses and treat physical and emotional problems holistically, looking for causes and not just alleviating symptoms. But Jirsha does. She radiates serenity and has a very enriching approach to life.
